Stress Reduction .

“Crap in , stress out” Human aphorism .
Synopsis:
This is not medical advice . Consult your doctor .
Reduction of cytokine production in the mouth reduces general stress , especially arterial plaque formation , blood pressure and some forms of depression .
Discussion :
The Mouth :
This is where foreign invaders first encounter the immune system .
See Appendix B
Cytokines get generated . They warn the pathways of the circulatory systems (blood and lymph) that invaders are coming .
Batten down the hatches and lock up your daughters .
The hatches are literally that : plaques formed by cholesterol , preventing penetration of arterio-walls by bacteria . But chronic , long-term signals means that the old shutters are not taken down . New shutters on top of the old ones constrict the vessels . The blood-vessels narrow , and Bad Things follow .
The initial cytokine generation in the mouth causes major effects right throughout the body .
A pathogen-laden meat like jerky or biltong will make you depressed (see Appendix C) unless taken with alcohol (an endorphin stimulant)
Locking up your daughters is not idle , either . Stem-cell and epigenetic effects in your terms .
What to do : The Trick !
The bacterial load in the mouth-cavity has to be reduced before eating. , not after .
This is because bacteria here has evolved to multiply explosively . The cytokines would have been released long before any counter measures were effective.
The Recipe :
1.Sterilize toothbrush in surgical alcohol .
2.Dip toothbrush in some anti-bacterial mouthwash like Dentyl . Do not use an abrasive like toothpaste .
3.Rinse mouth with water .
4.Then rinse with the juice of two crushed garlic cloves , immediately after crushing in about 1 ml of water . Rinse in the mouth using spittle . Swallow the garlic (the juice , not the pulp)
A note of caution :
If you are taking chronic medication for high blood pressure or high stress medication , be careful . Drastic hypotension or hypoglycemia effects are likely .
Smile !

Appendix A
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cytokine
“Cytokines (Greek cyto-, cell; and -kinos, movement) are small cell-signaling protein molecules that are secreted by the glial cells of the nervous system and by numerous cells of the immune systemand are a category of signaling molecules used extensively in intercellular communication. Cytokines can be classified as proteins, peptides, or glycoproteins; the term "cytokine" encompasses a large and diverse family of regulators produced throughout the body by cells of diverse embryological origin.[1] “
Appendix B
Cytokines are made where the rubber hits the tar :
“Virtually all nucleated cells, but especially endo/epithelial cells and resident macrophages (many near the interface with the external environment) are potent producers of IL-1, IL-6, and TNF-α.[2] In contrast, classic hormones, such as insulin, are secreted from discrete glands (e.g., the pancreas).[3] “
Appendix C

“Important blood pressure-regulatory systems, such as the renin-angiotensin system and sympathetic nervous system, interact with the proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6 and TNF-α. “

Cytokines, signaling molecules of the immune system, have been implicated as a contributing factor for mood disorders such as depression.
