Caffeine Tolerance II

Caffeine Tolerance II
Andre Willers
23 Jul 2011

Synopsis:
This is for humans with low (1/64 normal) of tolerance for caffeine .
Fluctuating overdose and withdrawal of neurotransmitter sites causes and triggers symptoms which are very similar to schizophrenic and psychotic breaks .

Discussion :
See Appendix A for the genetical cause .
Wikipedia has a very good discussion , and I am only going to summarise the gist of it here . See sites referenced below .

1.Poison :
Caffeine acts as a natural pesticide that paralyzes and kills certain insects feeding on the plants . (See Plant-Herbivore Wars)
2. It works by blocking the adenosine receptor sites (remember AdenosineTriphosphate? Kinda fundamental .) . Survivors compensated by increasing the number of adenosine receptor sites .
3.The liver breaks down caffeine (about 100 mg=1 cup coffee) per 2 hours .
4. Low tolerance individuals breaks it down at 1/64 of this rate . It takes them 2x64 = 126 hours ( ~ 6 days) to break down one cup of coffee . Their body keeps a running total of caffeine with a period of six days . The body creates more receptor sites ,

5.An imbalance in the number of receptor sites cannot go away quickly . They can be inactivated by more caffeine molecules . This is addiction .
6. These imbalances cause all sorts of ripple effects on receptors and neurotransmitters .
You go nuts .

7. Caffeine has many advantages . A safe running dosage for low tolerance humans is
about 27 ml of espresso coffee per day . Bulk it as you like .(Latte)
That is about 200 ml of an cup of filter coffee per day .

8. Plague consequences :
Trade with East introduced caffeine into upper classes .(Circa Crusades) . Caffeine binded to CCR5 receptor sites . These sites then multiplied in compensation . On the downswing , unutilized CCR5 sites were colonized by Black Death organisms .
Anybody who had even tasted tea or coffee was dead . As well as anybody in touch with them . This is still applicable today .

9 . Ideal for plants . Humans are forced to cultivate coffee or tea .If they stop , unutilized stimulated CCR5 sites gives entry to baddies .Plagues result .

10 . A cup a day keeps the plague away .

11. Will humans do it ?
Not a chance . Humans (specifically self-styled Homo Sapiens Sapiens) will be extinct by 2060 . Well deserved .
But the wiggling is interesting ,

Overdose : Too many receptors(caffeine withdrawal)
Side effects
"Many individuals experience facial flushing, a temporary rash on the chest, lightheadedness, diaphoresis, or nausea after administration of adenosine due to its vasodilatory effects.Metallic taste is a hallmark side effect of adenosine administration. These symptoms are transitory, usually lasting less than one minute. It is classically associated with a sense of "impending doom", more prosaically described as apprehension. This lasts a few seconds after administration of a bolus dose, during transient asystole induced by intravenous administration. In some cases adenosine can make patients' limbs feel numb for about 2–5 minutes after administration intravenously depending on the dosage (usually above 12 mg)."

Caffeine and Heart Attacks.
Andre Willers
14 Mar 2011

Synopsis:
Humans with 1 out of 2 defective copies of the gene P450 A12 (CYP1A2) on chromosome 15 are at least 64 times more likely to have a heart attack . (It governs enzymes in the liver that breaks down caffeine)

Discussion :
Source: J. Craig Venter , "A life decoded" , ISBN 978-0-141-01441-8 , p132 .
Somebody who should know .

A study of 4 000 persons over a year of coffee drinking showed risk of heart attack between 4+cups a day and 1 cup a day was in a ratio of 64:1 . These persons included the mixture of genes .

A separate test on only persons with both fully functional genes showed a less than 1% chance with 4+ cups of coffee per day .

I presume that if you have two bad copies of the gene , extreme caffeine intolerance will result , as it cannot be metabolized but only excreted .Basically , you die .

So , the system is very sensitive (by a factor of 64) to the mutation of one gene .

How do you tell if you have only one functioning gene ?
Absence of habituation .
If coffee always hits you the same way or more , then your liver is not breaking down the caffeine fast enough to compensate for intake . You have one defective gene ,

Is this good or bad ?
There is some historical evidence that caffeine or some metabolite competes with the CCR5 receptor site . This is the real baddy receptor site , where nasties like Black Death , smallpox , some flu's, etc enter the cell .
There was then strong positive selection for increasing caffeine tolerance , as it gave some protection against infectious diseases (apart from boiling the water)

Note the major usage of caffeine by doctors . This is usually ascribed to be kept alert , but it actually started as a fairly effective anti-infective agent .

It definitively kept them alert , mainly by keeping them alive .
As usual , humans got it the wrong way around .

The race between a heart attack and disease .
Having one defective gene means that caffeine stays around longer , but it causes heart problems if overindulged .

As usual with humans , the overindulgence won and selection heavily favoured two functional genes . The "more is better" school .

This results in all those huge coffees you get in Starbucks .
Also that doctors and other major caffeine imbibers will have more normal heart attacks , as some of them will still have one defective gene .

Historical notes :
Note the small old Chinese Tea-cups . (A cup of tea has about half the caffeine content of a cup of coffee .)
Or the original Turkish or Arabic cups .
All are small , because most people only had genes to slowly break down the caffeine .
Calculate optimals by using the 64 ratio .

If you have only one functioning gene.
Don't despair .
If you are partially caffeine intolerant , don't despair . Just drink less .
The effect , both stimulation and infection control is nearly the same .

Half a cup (a demi-tasse) a day of coffee will do the same .In the morning is best (Why do think they made all those millions of demi-tasse cups ?)
Or two demi-tasse's of tea a day . Or 4 chinese cups . You get the drift .

Children :
Treat them as having only one functioning gene. But this places those with two fully functioning genes at greater risk of disease . So , sort them out as soon as possible . A genetic test is preferable , otherwise just watch their behaviour after giving them a cup or two of coffee .

Why does caffeine compete with access to CCR5 receptor site ?
The old Plant-Herbivore Wars .
Plants dependant on cultivators (ie humans) benefit from reduced human susceptibility to disease . Those plants flourished , because humans survived to care for them . And so we are off to the races .

Plants are cultivating humans , and humans are cultivating plants .
A mutual bonsai .

Give a dinosaur a flower .

Seismic-to-sound transducer .

Seismic-to-Sound Transducer .
Andre Willers
21 Jul 2011

Synopsis :
Earthquake-swarms can be detected and their course predicted .
This was done at Gobekli Tepe . Many other sites should be around .
See "National Geographic" June 2011 p44 ("Birth of religion")

Discussion :
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Click and Ley-lines" May 2011

The physics :
A massive monolithic T-shaped rock with one leg of the upper T buried in resonant semi-elastic rock wall (equivalent of landfill) .
A series of such T-shaped sound generators in an elliptical wall focuses the sound waves on the foci .
At the foci are precisely shaped T-monoliths larger than the sound generators .
These act as transformers to shift frequencies down to human-audible range .
Having two foci makes it directional on a two-dimensional surface .

What happens :
Seismic waves resonating at different frequencies in the "land-fill" mortared elliptical wall are converted into sound waves by the small T's , which are then focused onto the large T's at the foci . This also downshifts the frequency via resonances into human-audible range . Humans with suitably sensitive hearing and sense of harmony can then hear seismic activity and extrapolate harmonies , giving long-term warning .

Earth-quake swarms like in the Middle-East lend themselves to this .

How to test this ?
1.Build a full size physical copy .
2.Model it in analog . A circuit can be constructed from the normal elements as an analogue , but a memristor must be included . A real wall will act as a memristor and eventually become insensitive , needing a new installation .
The number of successive elliptical mortared rockwalls (important that rocks making up wall be loosely(ie elastically) bound to give resonances ) act like antennae and capacitors .
Small T's are microphones and large T's at foci are mike-speaker .

3. Model it digitally .
As above .

Earthquake prediction :
This is a real prediction system that has been used as such before .
This has inherently a human component for pattern recognition and extrapolation .
It can be used in conjunction with http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Earthquake damage prediction" Jun 2011 to get rules .

I do not know if it will be of much use in single , once-off events , but it definitely works for swarms of earthquakes .

The fun bit : speculations :
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Acropolis and Catastrophe Theory" Aug 2009
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Why is the Parthenon not round" Jul 2009
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Click and Ley-lines" May 2011

These systems were constructed more-or-less simultaneously to meet the dangers of seismic activity and tsunamis about 9 600 BC at the end of the Ice Age.

It does seem as if the knowledge of rock sound-generators were applied to seismic activity and not vice-versa .

A seismic sensor has to be a massive installation , whereas rock-sound can (and is) being done by single individuals .

This means technology transfer was from West to East .

Delicious !
The kick-start for Agriculture was the need to build and maintain massive Earthquake prediction centers like Gobekli Tepe .
The physics require massive installations , which cannot be developed piecemeal .
There are similar installation in Crete , Malta , Egypt , France , etc

Notice that if you rotate the T-pillar around it's own axis , you get a Minoan pillar .
The palace at Knossus and the Parthenon were designed to sing in earthquake swarms for those with the ears to hear .

Since these were prediction centers , rapid communication was not as important as in the west , where tsunami's were the main threat .

Q'anats
These underground waterways were the fundamental infrastructure of the Middle-East Originally designed as antennae for earthquake prediction systems , their rapid information transmission systems were used for thousands of years .
Click messages . Underground sonic semaphores . Water as well as a bonus .
Q'anat means Double !Click .
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Ancient Babylonian Information Technology" Mar 2009

That is why the Mongols destroyed them .
The Mongol relative advantage was rapid communication .
Their population was too small to conquer . So they had to reduce populations and cut their communications .

They were well aware of the potential of the Q'anat system , and deliberately set out to destroy it . The Middle East never recovered . The communication system was the most important element of it .

But the earthquake prediction system can be restored at modest cost . The old knowledge is scattered , but not completely lost .

Look at the nexus points of old Q'anats for significant ruins and scripts especially in Akkadian .

Why Empires developed in the Middle East from the Semi-arid areas .
They had Q'anats , and the high-water table civilizations did not .
So , initially , they had fast internal communication .
See "Small World model"
Cf Medes and Persians .

Present USA incursion :
Typically , they have not learned from history . Local resistance is coordinated via the q'anat communication systems .

No need to blow them up (This will be genocide , a-la-Mongol). Just render them useless as communication channels by adding noise in sound and water waves .
Allowing the water to flow in the Middle-East is it's own message .

Why you will soon be needing this technology :
It is closely related to the end of the ice-age .
Tidal effects from the Moon causes vertical currents that eat away at ice and permafrost from the bottom up . This is because water is denser than ice . The barycenter exacerbates it by a factor of 15-20 (exactly like tides)

But the removal of ice-masses from the arctic and Antarctic unsquashes the earth globe on the rotational axis . Destabilizing faults on longitudinal lines .
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Earthquakes and Volcanos III" May 2011 .

Earthquake magnitude distribution as per power law . Ie , some big ones , then many small swarms . The Big Ones are too bad , but the swarms of smaller ones can be predicted and compensated for .

This is what Gobekli Tepe did .

Die sooner or die later .
One of god's little jokes .
It does not matter who survives .

Teeth and bio-control.

Teeth and bio-control.
Andre Willers.
15 Jul 2011

Synopsis :
Teeth and mouth have telomere lengthening molecules , combined with very strong DNA editors . Probably the same mechanism .

Discussion :
Teeth is where the rubber hits the tar . Sharks are so successful because they regrow their teeth . Their whole feeding strategy is based on violent hit-and-run . Ditto with crocodiles .
But the mechanism freezes their adaptability . The strong DNA editors limits genetic mutation adoption .

Humans have now grown mouse-teeth in-situ using scaffolding and specific growth-hormones . Sharks , crocs and other beasties (even humans) have been doing the same for hundreds of millions of years .

The enabling mechanism seems to be phytoplankton related .
Another forgetty related mechanism .
Domoic acid related .
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Anchovies and the Fall of Empires" Jul 2011

The croc deaths in the Mpumalanga rivers can be explained that they forgot to swim .
Pollution caused algae blooms , concentrating domoic acid . The crocs ate the smaller fish and became forgetties .Same as other denizens .
Couch crocodiles .

The Antidote to forgetty poison like Domoic acid . See below .
kynurenic acid and metabolites of melatonin and 5HTP .
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Melatonin and Dinosaurs" Jun 2011

Delicious !
The sleep-producing melatonin is the antidote to the deadly domoic acid lethargy .

Learned helplessness and depression :
Anti-domoic acid mechanisms should work on depression .
Domoic acid combined with anti-demoic acid protocols should dramatically ameliorate stress-related problems ( domoic acid targets the amygdala)
Melatonin , Tryptophan and 5HTP supplements should help , especially if exposed to Domoic poisoning . Or else just create a specific antidote .

Why ? See below .
http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract?fromPage=online&aid=467819
Abstract
The metabolism of the amino acid L-tryptophan is a highly regulated physiological process leading to the generation of several neuroactive compounds within the central nervous system. These include the aminergic neurotransmitter serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT), products of the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan metabolism (including 3-hydroxykynurenine, 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid, quinolinic acid and kynurenic acid), the neurohormone melatonin, several neuroactive kynuramine metabolites of melatonin, and the trace amine tryptamine. The integral role of central serotonergic systems in the modulation of physiology and behaviour has been well documented since the first description of serotonergic neurons in the brain some 40 years ago. However, while the significance of the peripheral kynurenine pathway of tryptophan metabolism has also been recognised for several decades, it has only recently been appreciated that the synthesis of kynurenines within the central nervous system has important consequences for physiology and behaviour. Altered kynurenine metabolism has been implicated in the pathophysiology of conditions such as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related dementia, Huntington's disease and Alzheimer's disease. In this review we discuss the molecular mechanisms involved in regulating the metabolism of tryptophan and consider the medical implications associated with dysregulation of both serotonergic and kynurenine pathways of tryptophan metabolism.

Garlic .
Allicin
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Garlic and the plant-herbivore wars" Apr 2011
Make your own Allicin Cream :
Spray-on cream from an aerosol can is an emulsion .
Spray it into your bowl , then crush your garlic clove inside the cream emulsion . Hopefully , large enough percentages of the binary components alliin and enzyme alliinase are encapsulated by the lipid foams .
Smear it on , and as the foams evaporate and break down , the components interact .
Voila , allicin .

This works very well in the mouth cavity .

Allicin is older than Domoic acid .Any delay mechanism will be in favour of allicin .

Allicin combined with anti-domoic acid agents like tryptophan or 5HTP will have pronounced effects on memory , individual or immune system .
The effect is multiplied .

This means that significant memory enhancements for students or the elderly can be obtained by simple and cheap methods .

Epicanthic Fold and Ultra Violet .

Epicanthic Fold and Ultra Violet .
Andre Willers
13 Jul 2011

Synopsis :
Some humans and animals deriving from ice and snow reflective environments have evolved the ability to re-express UV Dopsins . They can see into the Ultra Violet .
This is focused by an extra layer of highly-refractive fats from the epicanthic fold .
Hence the shortsightedness of people with epicanthic folds .

Discussion :
See:
NewScientist 4 Jun 2011 p20 "Reindeer gained UV-vision after moving to the Arctic"
http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Epicanthic folds and carbon monoxide" Jun 2011

Reindeer have been proven to see UV (Journal of experimental Biology , DOI:10.1242/jeb.053553 )

But the UV dopsins enabling mammals to see UV was supposed to have been lost circa 100 MYA .

The only way reindeer could have re-acquired it is by way of un-suppression of certain genes . This was within the last 10 000 years , but the process would have been within about 8 successive generations (at most , 200 years)

Humans , under the same evolutionary pressures , would have reactivated and selected for the same genes .

Neanderthals :
They could probably see some way into UV , as a cold-adaptation .

The Advantages of UV vision
Tracking
1.See urine traces on snow or ice (absorbs UV)
2.See lichen . (absorbs UV)

The Disadvantages of UV vision
See all the insect world in glorious colour . But this ties up enormous processing space in the visual and brain processes .

This can easily be tested .

The fats from the epicanthic fold not only test for carbon monoxide , but also refracts light more . Optimized on UV .

Unfortunately , this means that most people with epicanthic folds will be shortsighted

Calligraphy :
Chinese writing is three dimensional . The brush strokes create UV reflectors that can only be seen by somebody that can see UV . The same with the vases .
Normal humans can see hints of deeper patterns , and then create more meaningful patterns in their minds than those that exist . Each one individual . A neat technique .

Shining UV of different frequencies (around the harmonics of human dopsins) onto Chinese calligraphics (or Byzantine icons) should have interesting results .

Even better , let a trained UV seer look at it .

Click-speakers and UV-seers
Cave paintings and monoliths
The most potent Shamans would have been both Click-speakers and UV seers .
And they figured out ways to translate between them .

There should be a series of Sound(i) <-> UV(i) transformations

And you can test these with sound and UV generators /sensors

The curlicues of very old Chinese or Tibetan carvings or calligraphy should give a Rosetta Stone to translate neolithic carvings and monoliths
Clicking on some old glyphs should light them up in UV ..

Byzantine Icons .
I have no idea where these came from .
Shining a UV light on them , monitoring the returns while making clicking sounds will change the UV return . There is information locked into the system , but what ?

Even prints of icons have information densities higher than is possible without an observer .

This is why they are so appealing . The same as Chinese calligraphy or vases .

See Appendix A below .

Calligraphy and Icons are mind control systems .

Rull Mind-controls
Andre Willers
15 Jun 2008

Background :
AE van Vogt in the 1950’s postulated an alien species whose understanding of the human nervous system was so profound that they could compel certain behaviours by sketching lines on surfaces .
He called them the Rull .

Is this possible with humans ?
Yes . It is called writing .
Orders . The Truth Revealed . The Law , etc .

The Rull .
Let us postulate that the Rull communicates by exchanging scent molecules and have no concept of writing . They then have a language surpassing any human by factors of thousands . They would not even recognize human language as communication , the same as humans do not recognize the chimp cries .

In analyzing human communication , they would take the entire organism into account .

The visual sub-section would involve hard-wired responses from the human evolutionary ancestry and more recent neural-network learned behaviours .

They desire to induce a compulsive state . One is available in the “Falling-in-Love” syndrome , an obsessive-compulsive state essential to human survival . There are even hard-wired triggers : body-shapes (hips , breasts etc for males , legs ,shoulders for females , etc.)

They would notice that most human neural activity takes place at a sub-conscious level .
Many mirror-neuron networks compete to present a composite to the sensorium .
This provides scope for iteration . This is essential for compulsion .

An image with a fractal pattern , but a different pattern at each iteration leading to the desired neural configuration .

A good one will take eyeball saccades into account .

The person looking at the pattern will not even be aware that neural cascades are building up into the pre-programmed firing sequences .

Until Wham! The obsessive-compulsive complex is activated .

The human visual system is acute enough to make fine fractal differences of this nature possible .

An example :
Take “Drink Coke” . Assign each pixel to a fractal pattern and spread them according to a most probable saccade pattern . With each iteration of the eyeball movement and successive integrations in the brain , the elements of the slogan is assembled and eventually recognized consciously . But , before that , elements of it are evaluated by the amygdala in a google-type friend-or-foe reaction . This is where the Rull would tie in a “friend” reaction using old evolutionary paths .

Note that the amygdala plays a role analogous to the immune system .
But it has an Achilles heel . It has to allow obsessive-compulsive behaviour (“Falling in Love”) , otherwise the species will die out .

Note Mk IV humans . Glasses allow both fine-detail obsessive compulsive behaviour (the definition of MkIV) and more “normal” behaviour .
People with glasses also fall in love forever . The obsessive-compulsion is , well , obsessive .

Men who want to marry should make passes at girls who wear glasses .

This made the grand Chinese Experiment of one-child families possible .
The 85% wearing of glasses by Chinese means that they love their spouse and child obsessively . This rather changes the dynamic . There are no spare males for military adventures . If the leadership tries human-wave attacks , they will face revolt .
There might be a lot of them , but everyone is two citizen’s only son .

This leads to an intriguing speculation : does wearing glasses lead to a fundamental change in human perception (the way the neural cascades are assembled) ?

The answer is yes .

It is because of peripheral vision .
In the natural state , peripheral vision is unbounded : there is no clear demarcation .
But with glasses there is .

The visual system adapts , but the Friend-or-foe amygdala reaction takes place before the visual assembly is done . Varying the size and strength of the glasses then gives an easy and powerful way of reprogramming the amygdala !

I draw your attention to the “-isms” : patriotism , nationalism , communism , capitalism etc and ad nauseam etc . These became common as the use of glasses proliferated .

But why did organized religion like Catholicism or Protestantism then decline?
This is ironic : because they were too broad . The same thing is happening at the moment to sciences like physics .

Glasses have a focusing effect on the mirror-neuronal assemblies . Vague theories without any backup remain out of focus and are treated like peripheral vision items outside the rim of the glasses .

You can rid of phobias easily .
Create your own phobias or philias !

The Rull strikes again!

Rotting Clothing .

Rotting Clothing .
Andre Willers .
10 Jul 2011

Synopsis :
Wearing successive layers of rotting coarse-weave clothing is much healthier than washing .

Discussion :
Ancient travelers (Herodotus , etc) always commented on the barbarian habit of wearing clothes till they fell apart , then simply putting new ones over them .

Why weren't these barbarians zapped by plagues , while the cleanies were ?

What gives ?
The clothing layers
1. Inner coarse weave , made by felting , coarse weave processes . Involving milk , lactogen and fermentation bacteria . These generate heat . Sweat is utilized to generate heat in fermentation . As the fuel is exhausted , the fibres of the cloth disintegrate and fall off in an active life-style .
The coarse weave forms pockets of air , which are heated by the fermentation processes .
Basically , a hot air suit analogous to diving hotsuits .

2.Second and third layers the same
3.Outer layer

7. SuperNappies .
Mongols were renowned for spending days in the saddle without stop in subzero temperatures . How could they do it ?
SuperNappies , of course .
Warm urine was recycled and fed the bioreactor in the coarse-weave nappy to keep the balls and bum warm in the saddle , while gas generation kept the seat bouncy .
Without causing chafing (hint: milky proteins used in felt manufacture)
An elegant solution .

8. Vitamins
Fashionable lines of clothing had bacteria that manufactured vitamins needed by humans
Vit D springs to mind . A fur outer layer made of UV conductors (like many "white" furs ) will enhance Vit D production .
Others are left to the dear reader .

9. Eskimo's
They did not have coarse vegetable fibres and milk . Instead , they inverted fur and smeared it with fats and activated bacteria , making a really cosy environmental suit , mit vitamins and all .

10. Laplanders .
Somewhere in between Mongols and Eskimo's
But , note heavy preponderance of long-term cold-adapted Neanderthal genes .

11.Genetic Engineers note
There is a ready pool of cold-adapted bacterial genetic material from at least three discrete , separated sources .

12. The Smell
Doesn't this rotting clothing smell rotten ?
No . It smells rather sweet and milky once the seal is broken . No H2S is generated , and the whole process is well aerated via the active movement of the person .

13 . Bumpity-bump infertility .
An Epigenetic switch . Too much running or riding causes friction , This causes heat . Heat chaperones get activated . These activate epigenetic switches , indicating that the system as a whole is under stress . This activates infertility switches .
But bathing after exercise decreases temperature rapidly , aborting the whole epigenetic switching process . Resulting in higher fertility for both men and women .
This is why everybody washes these days . Not hygiene . Simply outbred .

14 . Speaking Mongolian .
Saying that we are not speaking Mongolian because they did not bathe seems extreme , but that is where the evidence leads us . Mongols never had the population explosion the English speaking peoples had . This is because of lack of bathing .
This is why you are reading this in English , instead of Mongolian .

A wind cheater and water impermeable cloak ,

4. Macro Parasites :
The broken coarse fibres in the inner layers act like scissors to break probosces .

Synopsis :
The distribution of wealth is the problem .

Less than 10% of the working force is needed to produce everything for everybody But the antiquated economic system requires that 90% of the population must somehow access a productive system to be able to breathe , drink , eat , shelter . Not only for themselves , but for their grandchildren as well . And Humans are optimized on grandchildren .
If these resources are locked up and denied , revolution results . As is happening now in the middle East , and coming in other parts .

The Banking and financial system is central to this .

Discussion :
A.You need an Absolute Optimal Reserve Calculation .
One based on Euler's constant seems useful .
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "New Tools" Nov 2008 "
http://andreswhy.blogspot.com " Infinite Probes in optimization" Jan 2008 and others
Repeated in Appendix A for easy reference .

This reserve is about 1/3 of cost .
This is simply the minimum reserves needed to be kept against any random error.
In other words , an optimized reserve . But this reserve can be seen as fractal . So we have a fractal reserve system , but with sharply defined boundaries (reminiscent of Sierpinsky fractals)

So reserves have stability points at 1/3 , 1/9 , 1/27 , …. , (1/3)^n

This has direct relevance to fractional-reserve banking
1 1/3 (33%) is roughly equivalent to Islamic or Early Christian banking .
2 1/9 (11%) developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 1300 AD to 1933 AD)
3 1/27 (3.7%) developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 1933 AD to 1982 AD)
4 1/81 (1.2%) developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 1982- 2008)
5 1/243 (0.4%) developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 2008 - 2011)

The Loan Generation capability ratio to each deposit to fund risky enterprises was as follows :
Credit = 1/r –1 , where r=is fractional-reserve banking ratio
6 2 is roughly equivalent to Islamic or Early Christian banking .
7 8 developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 1300 AD to 1933 AD)
8 26 developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 1933 AD to 1982 AD)
9 80 developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 1982- 2008)
10 242 developed out of the Western Warfare (circa 2008 - 2011)

These are optimized ratios. The center of Attractor Basins .

Central banks evolved as clearing houses to minimise arbitrageurs like Rothschilds But the Banking Reserve ratio's they used were too coarse .
This should be tuned to many decimals , not a quarter .

The pocket of stability is steep .
This is another way of saying it very powerful inside a narrow range . (Like the nuclear force) . This is also nuclear .

A 0.25 % variation will fall outside the pocket . You need many more decimals
Try it .

Actually , this should work for personal finances as well . A bank offering rates at these high decimal levels should have a significant advantage . Everybody has a calculator or computer and can evaluate it .

Stabilizing the present mess :
1. First , stabilize it . Set fractional bank reserve to the nearest stability point , using as many decimal points as it takes .
2. Then have a fixed , predictable policy of hiking up stability points to more sustainable stable points in discrete , quantal steps .
(Remember , random events like earthquakes , tsunamis , tornadoes , hurricanes , droughts , floods are increasing in frequency )
3. Humans are willing to take present pain if it will benefit grandchildren .
From the last large poll , 70% of US citizens are willing to default if it meant that their grandchildren were debt-free , never mind the cost to them .

B . The Broader Pattern :

This then leaves more than 90% of the population with access to high-energy weapons and without access to an income to feed them or their families .
This is a bit of a no-no .
So , give them an access to income .

Green Bonds (A second International Currency)
Trade debt for Green Dollars . Green Bonds are promises to perform environmental goods and services . Tradeable in Green Dollars .
There is one fundamental difference that makes it workable :
The growth rate (ie interest) is tied to real , physical , measurable processes .
Bubbles become very much unlikely .
But somebody like Craig Venter will get a huge advantage .
So what ?

This benefits everybody .

Benefits:
The planet becomes more habitable . The interest rate mechanism moves away from the chase for higher rates . Even the small ones can make a living .
Also known as ecology .

And so it goes .

Infinite Probes in Optimization .

5 Jan 2008

Definitions:
n! = n*(n-1)*(n-2)*(n-3)*…*1

The Euclidean Constant e .
e = (1/1! + 1/2! + 1/3!+ 1/4!… )
=2.178…

I will make it as simple as possible using costs and temporal sequences as examples .

Assume that the elements of a system are identifiable and repetitive .
The rules of Arithmetic can then be applied .

Take any such system . By definition it can then be subdivided indefinitely . Each subdivision of r elements can have r! possible permutations (or states) .

Let there be a CostReserve to cover unknown costs in the failure of any element in a group .

Key Assumption
Let at least one element of each r be Aristotelian False (ie a failure cost item)

The Total cost of failure will be the sum of the cost of failures of the elements.
(ReserveCost) *( (1/1! + 1/2! + 1/3!+ 1/4!… ))= (TotalCost)

Your Reserve times the sum of individual failures = total
This defines the boundary .

This is the optimization equation .

This is equal to
ReserveCost / TotalCost = 1/e ~ 0.37

This means that you should not consider an endeavour where the rate of return is less than 37% . This is the long-term break-even point from a probabilistic viewpoint .

This equation is independent of space or time .

Any society (any at all ) that does not deliver 37%+ returns gets zapped by the chaotic downturns .

Since vested interests always decrease rates of returns , empires rise and fall .

The probe can be used in any infinite series , but care has to be taken to define the terms .

An Interesting corollary :

The alert reader would have noticed that the above is true for when there is always at least one false item per group .
What if there is at least one true item per group ? This is approached as follows:

In trading systems , individual items can be identified . The cost of failure in an individual item is then = 1/ (r!/r) = 1/ (r-1)!
The summation is then
(ReserveCost/Item)*(1*1/1! + 2*1/2! + 3*1/3!+ 4*1/4!… ))= (TotalCost)
(ReserveCost/Item)*(1 + 1 + 1/2!+ 1/3!… ))= (TotalCost)
(ReserveCost/Item) / (TotalCost) = 1/(1+e) ~ 0.27

As can be seen , trading systems will survive the collapse of empires . There is a whole 10% difference favouring traders . Recovery systems will then also favor traders .

This is the underlying reason why Stalinistic Communism failed and Chinese went trader . The VOC and East India Co . are good examples .

Ten percent is just too much .

Ho-ho-ho !
The average between 0.37 and 0.27 is roughly 0.33 . A third .Can you see where this is relevant in any infinite situation where uncertainty rules?

Non-Failure Ratio
A non-failure ratio of (1- 1/3) ~2/3 summated over infinity = (2/3) / (1-2/3) =2 .

This means that any system that can be described or broken up into smaller groups is strongly ordered . Successful subgroups survive by a factor of 2 . This is built into the mathematics of the Universe . Life is one such sub-group , so are particles ,etc . Negative entropy is the rule . Life is everywhere . Positive entropy only holds in the most primitive and earliest systems .

Beautiful!

Quantum and non-quantum systems are the same .

Singularity Points.
27% and 37% are singularity points , as are (100-27)=63% and 53% . SocioEconomic systems destabilize at these points . Regardless whether they are human , alien , japanese , chinese or any other sort of ese .
Any society where more than a third of productive enterprise is spent without engendering new wealth creation is doomed .

Tax rates of more than 27% reduce trade . Tax rates between 27% and 37% will let it limp along . Tax rates over 37% is a disaster waiting to happen . It is that simple , and no amount of pontificating will change the realities of economics .

The tax rate anchored between 0% and 27% will follow a catenary . The optimal will be halfway (12.5%) . This would be the optimal VAT rate . Note that deviations from this (up or down) leads to social unrest . The unrest is not linear , but catenary . In other words , it gets rapidly worse as it approaches the anchor points of 0 or 27 % . This is true of any civilization , human or alien . It is inherent in the mathematics .

These are absolute rates , not relative .

The RepoRate .
The tax on new money . If the reporate plus profits stay away from the singularity points (27% , 37%) there is no problem.

What about undefined realities ? Refer to

Note in the definitions above , that as groups are divided by n , and n->infinity , the system approaches undefined “thingies” . Hence , it can be used as a probe into undefined realms .

Marriage:
An interesting corollary is optimizing pairings of two . The theory above says that random pairing will lead to a failure rate of 37% . Observation seems to bear this out .

To optimize : Note and keep track the best features of the first 37/100 daters , then seriously consider the first anybody after that who equals or better the standards of the first 37
This optimizes your chances .

This result has been independently reached in games theory

Note that your body is independently doing this sort of infinite analysis . Hence speed dating , cocktail parties , mingling , etc .

A good algorithm is to speed date at least 50 persons . Do not do this if you cannot handle rejection , since this concentrates years of normal rejection into a few weeks .

A therapeutic mechanism? Sects use this whipsaw mechanism of rejection (by the outside world) and warm acceptance by the sect to create mini-societies .
Hence cold-canvassing . Rejection binds them closer . Any converts are a bonus . Most real converts are made by on-on-one contact .

But that is also the definition of most successful families .

If you are stupid and ugly , and can handle speed dating , you are a better man than I am , Human .

Virtual speed dating .
Analogous to cures for fear of heights , fear of confined spaces , etc . Considerable success has been achieved in reprogramming the amygdala for these and related phobias using virtual reality .

A Virtual Rejection website will make money .
That’s OK if somebody learns from it .
Another way for actresses or avatars to make money .

Credit = 1/r –1 , where r=is fractional-reserve banking ratio

Definitions:
n! = n*(n-1)*(n-2)*(n-3)*…*1

The Euclidean Constant e .
e = (1/1! + 1/2! + 1/3!+ 1/4!… )

An interesting corollary is optimizing pairings of two . The theory above says that random pairing will lead to a failure rate of 37% . Observation seems to bear this out .

"Dino , Dino Burning Bright ! In the forests of the Night !" Apologies to Blake

Synopsis :
Living , lasing cells have been created . The process is based on evolutionary results .

Discussion :
See
1.NewScientist , 18 Jun 2011 , p17 "First living laser is made of human cell ."
2. (Nature Photonics , DOI:10.1038/nphoton.2011.99 )
3. http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Dino burning bright" 17 Jun 2011
4. http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Melatonin and Dinosaurs" 14 Jun 2011

I could not believe my eyes when I read the article in Newscientist late on 5 Jul 2011 .
My estimate of the time to find a suitable laser gain medium was about 20 years .

What they did :
(Gather and Yun of Harvard)
They created a gene modified cell that expressed DNA from a jellyfish that encodes for an enhanced Green Fluorescent Protein (GLP) .
This was the laser gain medium .
Pumping and mirroring was done artificially , but the crucial bit was that "certain wavelengths were preferentially amplified " .
The "preferential" is the tricky bit . GLP is folded to give partial Fresnell diffraction and reflection gates . You won't find this on your little desktop computer quickly .

The folded GLP lases naturally m and can presumably be bettered .

Biological mirrors :
Scales , off course . It should be easy to use a Genetic Algorithm to find reflecting scales . Remember to include Fresnell effects .

Biological light pumping .
Even easier . We are doing it already . Many organisms pump light flashes .

This raises all sorts of interesting questions .
1.Are the deep-sea abysses criss-crossed by laser beams ? Has anybody looked?
2 . We can create a laser-animal within about 4 years . Should we ?
Laser-taloned fighting cocks are distinct possibility .
3. Are entanglements in bird's eyes remnants of laser systems ?
4. Are bird's eyes sensitive to carbon monoxide levels ?
How does this relate to human eye-sensitivity to CO ?
See http://andreswhy.blogspot.com "Epicanthic folds and carbon monoxide" 29 Jun 2011
5. What will happen to a planet filled with end-point photonic animals if it suddenly becomes smoke-filled and the oceans turbid ?
6. Are there intra-cellular and inter-cellular laser communications ?
There certainly is a lot if infrared .
7 . How does mitochondria fit in ?

Anti-Lasers
Cao's lab at Yale has made some .
Has any evolved ?
My guess is yes . Look among the deepsea jellyfish .(Where they got GLP in the first place .)
This will have a major impact on new , targeted antibiotics .

Oh no !
Stealth dinosaurs .
Instead of burning bright , they soak up all radiation .
Either store it or discharge in one directional burst the minimize detection .

Neutrino jellyfish .
Nanoscale Fresnell gates will focus neutrinos , forcing a much higher rate of interaction with standard matter . There will be an utilizable energy release . Communication as well .
Think of a distributed life-form , linked by neutrinos with nano-Fresnell gates as synapses . Old . Notice the energy and information systems are the same .

Neutrino sensors :
Can be made about a meter cubic , laced with something like GLP lasers that amplify

Energy generator :
Trickier .
The neutrino energy density is low .So , to get something meaningful we must concentrate and enhance .
To enhance neutrino emission from the sun or a nuclear reactor , we require a neutrino mirror . We can then initiate a stimulated emission of neutrinos . A neutrino laser .

Neutrino mirror :
Entangle neutrinos coming from opposite directions (use neutrino jellyfish nanoscale Fresnell gates.) . The entangled neutrino from earth , arriving at the Sun , is a mirror image . In effect , a neutrino mirror . A neutrino laser can then be effectuated ,
This sounds difficult . Like I thought about living lasers . But most of the hard parts have been done by deep-sea jellyfish .

Beware of Cthulthu !

Anchovies and the fall of Empires .

Anchovies and the Fall of Empires.
Andre Willers
2 Jul 2011

"Civilizations simply forgot civilization .":

Synopsis :
Domoic acid (a powerful neurotoxin causing loss of short term memory) is concentrated in anchovies during periods of environmental degradation . This gets into the human food chain via sauces such as Roman Garum and South-East Asian fish sauces such as nuoc mam .
This caused hippocampus damage , resulting in memory loss . Poor impulse control results . Essentially , infantilism .
Nero was not mad . He just forgot .

Discussion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domoic_acid
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anchovy

1.Why eat it in the first place ?
Fish sauces were and are vital to supply essential omega fatty acids . These are really essential for brain development . Inland communities in history went through extraordinary convolutions to obtain them .

Anchovies are especially favoured because of the snout contains a unique rostral organ, believed to be sensory in nature . It is a bioelectric organ , harbouring some unique biochemicals , lusted after by predatory brains .

This organ enables anchovies to flourish in troubled waters , where pollution due to mud or chemicals is high . Another organism shares this ecological niche , namely some phytoplankton like red algae . These produce domoic acid as a biochemical weapon .

Anchovies have evolved defences , which means they concentrate it (so does some other species like shellfish) .

2.The Cycle :
When the waters are clear , nothing much happens .
But when the human land-empire becomes more successful , more land is cultivated . The pollution of the coasts increases drastically around landlocked seas like the Med or complicated island and canal nets of southeast asia .

Anchovies first explode in numbers , then humans , then pollution in a feedback loop .
At some stage phytoplankton production of domoic acid kicks in (presumably a quorum mechanism to inhibit high densities of anchovies that eat plankton.)
A forgetty poison .

3.This works equally well on Humans .
Fish sauces , which were essential to human health , suddenly became actively deletrious , causing loss of short term memory . You need short term memory to get to long term memory in a purely biochemical sense .

Civilizations simply forgot civilization .

This why you no longer get Garum . It became a poison .

It would start with the top levels of societies , those who could afford the best Garum or Nuoc Mam , and work its way down . Note that the barbarians in the interior , or fishing communities on the Atlantic would be little affected .

5.The end of Rome and Angkor Wat .
Forgotten .

Not even a whimper . Just a "What?"

I suspect the same in Meso-america or Polynesia . Everywhere where they just walk away .

6.Bronze-age civilization ? (circa 3400 years ago)
A possibility . If they kept eating anchovies after the volcanic turbitity , severe memory loss would result . Especially since the memory systems at the time were mainly verbal , not written down . This might have stimulated the evolution of written systems .

7.End of the Ice Age (about 10 000 years ago)
Massive floods and turbidity would have polluted seas (North Sea , Bay of Biscay , Med , Sediment Floods from North America .
The last is interesting . The light , freshwater floods after the breaking of the ice-dams on North-America was supposed to stop the Gulf stream .
It did not . The heavy , cold , finely-ground sediment swept in suspension along the seafloor to turn the west coast of Europe into a murk . Algal blooms resulted . Fish like anchovies bloomed . Humans ate them and turned into forgetties . There was little symbological language . The referents were forgotten .

There were high human civilizations . They simply forgot them .
All we have left are rocks with symbols like spirals , circles , etc . The referents are forgotten .

8.Domoic Acid and the Immune System .
The secondary level of the Immune System is a Short-term memory system .
I do not know if domoic acid interferes with this , but have a horrible feeling that it does .

Evolutionary systems tend to be very conservative . Higher level short term memory systems will tend to follow from older memory systems . So something affecting the hippocampus will also affect the immune system . In other words , domoic acid will degrade immune systems . This means more plagues .
Note the Roman plagues .A Perfect Storm scenario
And things like HIV in our times .

(Note the feedback between West-African fishery turbidity due to massive netfishing and bush-meat . Some anchovies from the turbid , polluted areas still made it through , degrading immune systems and exposing them to new infectious agents .)

9.And our Civilization ?
I'm afraid the same thing is happening .
The system has learned to some extent , in as much that fish sauces are not as prevalent . But nutritional supplements are . And fish-oil supplements are not tested for domoic acid .
In any case , Gaia has more of these feedback loops up her sleeve .

Have you noticed how more infantile the better-fed elements of the society are ?
That is because their memory is going .

Memory-loss begets infantilism .

10. Gaia likes a flashy big spender
(since She owns the only Casino in town)
She might even comp you a few extra million years in cushy comfort .
Gaia does not see spreading high-energy molecules like plastics or oil around as pollution. These are opportunities ,

The alert reader will have noticed that most of the plastics in ocean gyres are being broken down by bacteria . Oils spills (like Gulf of Mexico) has vanished . We are still awaiting ripple effects .

11.Humans and Gaia
Humans are supposed to be the conscious component of Gaia .
Cutting down on pollution can be far more dangerous than the pollution itself .
Systems will protect themselves , even if it destroys themselves .

Humans need to start really worrying if they cut down on pollution without understanding what they are doing .

Having trouble with your memory ?
Pizza with extra anchovies , anyone ?
