Why casino’s are failing . Some simple techniques to make you more conscious , mindfull and smarter . Also luckier . Luck is not Zero-sum .

1.Latest research indicates group meditation as effective as individual therapy .
Group mindfulness treatment is as effective as individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in patients with depression and anxiety, according to a new study. This is the first randomized study to compare group mindfulness treatment and individual cognitive behavioral therapy in patients with depression and anxiety in primary health care.
How to set up a group .
 
2.The joker :
The Group need not be real . Virtual might even be better .
 
3.Set up a virtual group of Mentor Avatars (like Gauss , Newton , Euler , etc) . Treat them like real persons .

6.Sleep and souls .

Think of the soul as a “cloud-storage type memory”  .
If updated with primitive compression during sleep  , 1/3 time necessary .
Getting smarter means getting better organized , better packing , and less sleep .
But never zero .
Zero sleep means a discontinuity . And if forced by mechanical or chemical means , will lead to the personality fragmenting (Psychosis) .

Only during the boring bits . This is where omniscience comes in handy .

8.Approaching singularity effects :
The Souls grow more concentrated as sizes decrease and masses increase . Information transfer improves non-linearly .
This can be measured .
Rhine-card type tests should show a non-linear sine-form increase in correct guesses in the manifold around the experimentee-experimentor pair .
 
9.What does this mean ?
Casino’s will go out of business .
And here I thought it was simply the economy that Atlantic City is closing up shop .
Everybody is just getting luckier .
The rules are changing .

Boosting Mirror Neurons

Synopsis :
Simple methods using existing technology to boost Mirror Neurons .
 
Discussion :
0.In order of Effectiveness , ease of use and cost .
   
1.Zapping intestinal flora and fauna .
Use large doses (6-8 gm)of Vit C , antibiotics ,alcohol etc .
Most of the immune system (80-90%) , including T-cells , is clustered around the intestinal tract to keep all the bugs under control .
Killing them off frees the immune system for other tasks.

Note that this is an experimental observation , not an explanation .
Still , it works , is simple and inexpensive .
Why creative people overuse alcohol .
VitC (8gm) will have the same effect . But where is the fun of that ?
 
2.Utube
The easiest and cheapest way of boosting Mirror Neurons by usage at present .
See Appendix D .
Take flaxseed oil (Omega 3) with it . You need the building blocks .
Real mentors are expensive and scarce .
Virtual avatars of hyperreal mentors are still a bit in the future .
Use a plain mirror and a book and/or verbal instruction if no computer .

An Interesting aside :
The earliest mirror was a bowl of still water . The earliest bowl was a watertight woven basin . Then came ceramics . Compound mirrors where the bowl was black to maximise mirror effect came next . A type of “glazing” . Sadly  , only fragments remain . Not just for women : essential for shaving if you did not want to scalp yourself with a hypersharp flint razor .
 
3.Juggling
A good illustration of Mirror Neurons . Very quick to learn if a mentor teaches it , visibly .
Otherwise , reinventing the wheel . Actually a good analogue of civilization .
A person with difficulty learning juggling from mentor , will have difficulty being civilized . (He Cannot learn)

4. Transcranial Random Noise Stimulation (TRNS)
A bit more high-tech , but it has the virtue that it is passive and fairly quick .

A favourite with biological systems .
  
5.There are many others , but these are measures that can be taken right now .
 
6.Visual Acuity :
Blind juggling .
The body skin sensors instead of the visual senses are used to train the system to form a mirror image of the juggling balls .
Eventually they are dispensed with  .
 
In general , Mirror Neurons are not dependant on visual acuity for effectiveness.
But it helps
The frame-forming effect on peripheral vision of spectacles will make things more interesting .
 
7.Tai Chi
Use a mentor (expensive) or join a group . All involve mirror neurons .

Trying  it from a book is reinventing the wheel , and not very effective (by about 3 orders of magnitude)
 
8.Transcendental Meditation ™
A method of mirror neuron entrainment by watching the sub-vocalizations of the mentor . For which you have to pay .
The sub-vocalizations are seen in the neck at subliminal level in the neck . Which is why all the luxuriant beards .
Ironically , the brick turned out to be real gold .
Random Mantras .
One-pad encryption to the Infinite .

Transcranial Random Noise Stimulation (TRNS)
May 16, 2013 — In the future, if you want to improve your ability to manipulate numbers in your head, you might just plug yourself in. So say researchers who report in the Cell Press journal Current Biology on May 16 on studies of a harmless form of brain stimulation applied to an area known to be important for math ability.
"With just five days of cognitive training and noninvasive, painless brain stimulation, we were able to bring about long-lasting improvements in cognitive and brain functions," says Roi Cohen Kadosh of the University of Oxford.
Incredibly, the improvements held for a period of six months after training. No one knows exactly how this relatively new method of stimulation, called transcranial random noise stimulation (TRNS), works. But the researchers say the evidence suggests that it allows the brain to work more efficiently by making neurons fire more synchronously.
Cohen Kadosh and his colleagues had shown previously that another form of brain stimulation could make people better at learning and processing new numbers. But, he says, TRNS is even less perceptible to those receiving it. TRNS also has the potential to help even more people. That's because it has been shown to improve mental arithmetic -- the ability to add, subtract, or multiply a string of numbers in your head, for example -- not just new number learning. Mental arithmetic is a more complex and challenging task, which more than 20 percent of people struggle with.
Ultimately, Cohen Kadosh says, with better integration of neuroscience and education, this line of study could really help humans reach our cognitive potential in math and beyond. It might also be of particular help to those suffering with neurodegenerative illness, stroke, or learning difficulties.
"Maths is a highly complex cognitive faculty that is based on a myriad of different abilities," Cohen Kadosh says. "If we can enhance mathematics, therefore, there is a good chance that we will be able to enhance simpler cognitive functions."

Her response to his question was:

“Yes, juggling for just a few minutes a day will help you be more creative, make faster decisions, and have more access to more of your brain. Take a juggling break when you need to brainstorm something new and creative. It is excellent for building creativity. Try learning a new juggling trick, or juggling higher, behind the back, etc. Be sure to juggle in from of your son–it is good for his mirror neurons!”

Lightweight Si/SiC mirrors of nominal diameter 7.5 cm have been fabricated via a scalable and rapid, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process to demonstrate the CVD mirror fabrication technology. These mirrors consist of a faceplate of either Si or Si‐coated SiC and a lightweight backstructure made of either Si or SiC. The mirrors were polished to a figure better than 1/5th of a wave at 0.6328 Å and a finish of better than 10 Å rms. A procedure for fabricating these mirrors is described. The CVD fabrication process is fast and has the potential to yield several mirrors in a few weeks time from a single reactor. The CVD mirror fabrication technology is quite general and can be extended to include mirrors of other ceramic materials such as TiB2 and B4C.

Appendix E
Generate a random Mantra .
The TM technique is simple mental repetition of a "mantra" or word. The TM movement claims that only specific "words" can be used. They claim that the selection of words is based upon a secret formula. Court documents have shed some light on this "secret" process. It is nothing other than a set of words given out by age, and/or age and sex, depending on the teacher training course the TM teacher attended.
The TM-Sidhi program is nothing other than a set of sutras (words or phrases), mentally repeated every fifteen seconds after doing a twenty minute session of TM. Each sutra is repeated twice, with a 15 second pause in between each repetition.
